The reason behind the PDF format is its portability. In other words, a document generated by any application can be opened without compatibility problems on other platforms. Developed by Adobe, it was first released in 1993 and was standardized as open-source in 2008, allowing us to open exactly the same document on Windows, macOS, Linux or Android. Nowadays, the use of PDF files is very extended, because it has advantages and features that make it very practical. This format has been specially conceived for documents that are going to be printed because it contains all the information for the final printout. In other words, what you see in the PDF is what you will see on the paper.

PDFCreator is good, but ads are annoying. How to block them?
The free version of PDFCreator is configured to display ads, because this is the agreement offered if you choose to install it. However, the only way to remove those ads is by purchasing the Plus version. The Plus version doesn’t have ads, it offers fast updates and premium support. You can get additional information using the following URL: http://www.pdfforge.org/pdfcreator/plus

I’m printing a PDF file using PDFCreator off an Excel file; when I check print preview Excel displays that 5 pages will be printed; however, when PDFCreator prints the pdf file it prints 7 pages. PDFCreator is not using the print parameters set by Excel? How do I get PDFCreator to print it using the Excel Margins parameters? Thanks.
You can choose from Print > Print>PDFCreator > Properties.
Does PDFCreator have autosave features?
Yes, PDFCreator has an autosave function. You can change the configuration for this feature using Change Profile Settings from the application. If there isn’t a profile, click the plus sign and create one. Additionally, choose the folder where the files will be autosaved and tweak various features offered through the same window.

I need to create a PDF that supports all fonts so that no one would have a problem reading it. How to embed all possible fonts?
PDFCreator doesn’t allow you to customize or change the settings for the embedded fonts. There is another application for that, known as PDFArchitect. PDFCreator takes the opened document and prints it and that’s it. Try using a common font and there shouldn’t be a problem with your document on various computers.
Try PDFArchitect: http://www.pdfforge.org/pdfarchitect
Can I combine two PDFs in PDFCreator?
No, the application doesn’t allow you to combine to PDFs. This option is available in another application called PDF Architect. The Creator version is used to create PDF files using the virtual printer when Print is accessed.
Download PDF Architect using the following link: http://download.pdfforge.org/download/pdfcreator/PDFCreator-stable
To merge multiple PDF files, go to Create PDF section then press on Combine.
A PDF I made is unreadable on a diffecrent machine due to not all fonts being enabled during print. How to solve this?
This is an unusual problem, because PDFCreator can make PDF files with all the available fonts. However, try switching to another font, because there is no option in PDFCreator to allow you to customize the embedded fonts. I have installed the application and accessed both Application and Profiles settings, and there was nothing mentioned about fonts.
Switch the fonts to something that’re common and if you still encounter issues, then contact the developers of the application: http://forums.pdfforge.org/categories/help
How to access PDFCreator command line?
PDCreator allows you to create a PDF file using the following command calling the main executable:
PDFCreator.exe /PrintFile="PathFilename.extension". This is the only command available for the application. To check more about it, use the following website of the developer where command line parameters are provided: http://www.pdfforge.org/pdfcreator/manual/command-line-parameters
Does PDFCreator have adware or bloatware?
No, PDFCreator doesn’t have adware or bloatware, but it will display ads from time to time since you’re using the free version. This is the policy implemented by the developers.
